Papua Rise Stadium

PT PP (Persero) Tbk has completed construction of the Papua Rise Stadium project last year. The Papua Rise Stadium construction project was inaugurated directly by the Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe by implementing strict Covid-19 health protocols.

Papua Rise Stadium is also known as the Lukas Enembe Stadium, who currently serves as the Governor of Papua. The figure of Lukas Enembe is what pushed Papua forward as the host of the XX PON. For his services, the Papuan DPRD then proposed changing the name of the Papua Rise Stadium to the Lukas Enembe Stadium.

The Papua Rise Stadium is located in Harapan Village, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua. Initially, it was built to welcome the 2020 PON XX Papua which will take place for the first time in Papua.

REACH MURI RECORD

Right on the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the construction has succeeded in recording the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for 3 (three) categories at once. Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Iwan Suprijanto explained, the three categories, namely the first category, for the longest span arch steel roof structure with dimensions of 90 meters.

The second category, the roof without connection and the widest conical bolts in the form of a dome covering an area of ​​7300 square meters. While the third category is the longest installation and the largest diameter of textile duct with internal ring dimensions of 477 meters, outer ring diameter of 70 meters and inner ring diameter of 56 meters.

PRESIDENT JOKOWI EXHIBITED

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) showcased the beauty of Papua Rise Stadium (Istora Papua Bangkit)which will be the main venue for the XX PON in Papua through his official Instagram account. President Jokowi showcased the beauty of the Papua Rise stadium with a beautiful hill background. In the stadium there are several sports venues that will be contested in the event.

Some of the venues include aquatic, cricket, and indoor and outdoor hockey venues. Apart from these 4 venues, there are 3 other venues currently in the completion stage, namely the rowing, archery and rollerblading venues.

President Jokowi himself has instructed that the XX PON performance in Papua be carried out as well and as carefully as possible. He also requested that the contingent of athletes and officials be vaccinated before leaving for Papua.
